Pitching:
Remember to mix up your pitches and work the corners. Under Veteran and
All-Star difficulty settings this becomes very important. Unlike most games you
will be able to achieve pin-point accuracy with your pitches so aim for the
corners.
High Heat Baseball Batting Interface:
If you were a fan of the now bankrupt 3DO franchise High Heat Baseball
(bought by Microsoft) you will enjoy the batting interface in this 989 Sports
baseball title because its almost a direct clone.
It is virtually impossible to draw walks
consistently in this 989 Sports title as the CPU tends to throw combinations of
strikes rather than strikes and balls.
Unlike last years batting interface you
can't maneuver the position of your batter in relation to the plate. So
therefore it is difficult to adjust to outside and inside pitches as quickly as
you could with a manageable sweet spot.
Spring Training Mode:
This
allows gamers to create a player and help him make a perspective team based on
his performance in Spring Training. If your player gets 50 points or more he
will get called up to the majors. Points can be scored by getting hits, driving
in runs, scoring runs, and hitting homeruns. If your player gets 100 points or
more he will get selected to an all-star game.
Catching Bagswipers:
More often
than average if you hit the lead of hitter
and the next batter you throw low and outside so its a ball then you pitch out the
next pitch and the runner will most likely steal.

Get the perfect player:
Pick the
CREATE A PLAYER selection at the options menu. You can't perform
this trick in career mode. Submit Max as a first name, Stats
as a last name, and set his number to be 99. You can now
increase his stats as high as desired. Upon finishing, you can
change his name to anything desired and he will still have the
increased stats.
Gold era
players:
First create a profile, then view rewards.
Scroll over and you should see all the other listings, Silver Era,
etc.
